Southeast Birds

It all started when my folks bought a birdfeeder. The first one they had was located on a tree in the backyard. The second birdfeeder they bought is the one that sparked my interest.

They hung this birdfeeder on the steps that lead to their back porch. It is hanging from a pole that can be clearly seen from the kitchen window. The first time I saw this birdfeeder I thought “Wow! They really are bored in the prime of their retirement”. As time went on and I sat in the kitchen watching these birds feeding, I realized I am just as hooked as them.

I bought a camera, grabed the old man, and set out for the woods. Now, dad and I have found a new hobby that we both enjoy. Not that we needed something to bring us closer together, as we are a close family, but we found something the two of us really enjoy doing together.

We decided to start this website hoping that if anyone is looking for a new hobby, or just something for the whole family can do tegether, that they would come across this site and give birdwatching a try.

I never thought I would be into this. Although I always enjoyed the outdoors, I never really payed any attention to the birds that surrounded me. Since my parents purchased that birdfeeder, I realized there is so much I have been missing.

I am just an amateur birdwatcher, however I have learned a great deal since I started this new hobby and want to share my new found knowledge with you. So gather the family around the computer and learn about the birds that are located in your backyard, then take a weekend and spend it with the family finding these birds and watch them in action! I promise, you won’t be sorry you did it.
